After three months of being with each other, sharing the heat of desire in a single bed, Wylynn Snyder could still feel like she was on cloud nine up to this day. Levi Zacharias was an ideal man for Wylynn. He was not selfish and concerned about her enjoyment of the activity, which Wylynn appreciated because she liked the feeling of being cared for.
Levi's arm was wrapped around her waist, hugging her from behind as she lay on her side with her head on the pillow.
Resting, Wylynn attentively looked at his sturdy forearm in her tummy. His skin was pale, but that didn't obstruct her from knowing the strength his arms, which had wrapped around her waist many times, possessed. Down to Levi's hands, they never failed to take her breath away whenever she saw them. His hands were very manly, matched by his long fingers and well-defined knuckles. This hand that had once...
Wylynn's thoughts were interrupted when she noticed a ring on his finger. It was no ordinary ring. Even though she was not a fan of luxurious things, BVLGARI was a famous luxury brand, for she not to recognize the ring. But it was not the one that blew her mind; its type instead. It was a wedding ring! It shone under the light, looking dazzling. She couldn't deny that even she, who was not into such things, found it marvelous. But at the same time, it sobered her from being immersed in their sweet past.
With her hoarse voice, Wylynn asked, "You're getting married now?"
"Just engaged," Levi corrected, calm as usual.
As a realization dawned on her, her mood became a little subtle.
'Then, I shouldn't squeeze myself into him anymore,' Wylynn thought.
Holding her breath, she courageously said, "Since you're engaged, shouldn't it be over for us?"
Levi was still single when they started this relationship, but now that the situation had changed, Wylynn knew that their relationship, if it could be called that, should end now. She didn't want to ruin someone's relationship just because of this physical connection and worldly desires she had with Levi.
Hearing her words, Levi smiled and pecked her neck, making a shiver run down Wylynn's spine and her hand clenched the sheet tightly. With his deep voice, he asked, "Are you willing to give up?"
Not expecting his question, Wylynn's mind went blank, and her strength seemed to vanish.
Unable to think straight out of frustration and bottled-up emotions, she suddenly grabbed his hand and bit it hard, leaving a teeth mark on it.
Seemingly understanding Wylynn's impulsive behavior, Levi simply gave her a slight pinch on her chin and remarked jokingly, "You learned something bad, huh." Then he turned her around to face him and bit her lip hard.
It was then that Levi's cell phone suddenly rang. It kept ringing, but Levi simply picked it up, glanced at it, and returned it to the bedside table afterward.
Wylynn, on the other hand, assumed it was his fiancee calling him. Nonetheless, they went on with their business, but Levi left earlier than usual that night.
Alone in the room, Wylynn was lying on the bed and couldn't help but think about the wedding ring on his finger. As it occupied her mind, she kept tossing and turning on her bed. But after a long moment, she finally came up with a big decision; she blocked Levi on Facebook. Upon doing so, a thorn seemed to be pulled out of her throat, allowing her to heave a sigh of relief and sleep tight.
Levi, on the other hand, drove to Diagon Alley after leaving the hotel. On the road, his phone suddenly rang once again. It was Jad Zager, who had also called him repeatedly earlier. Levi answered the phone, and Jad immediately began reporting.
"Where are you? Yohann fought with his classmates, and he's now in the hospital. The doctor said his injuries were minor, but he kept crying in anger. As for his classmate, the kid has been taken to the police station, and I'll speak with his parents early tomorrow morning," Jad explained.
As the latter spoke, the traffic light hit the red light, so Levi took the box of cigarettes and lighter from the storage compartment and lit one skillfully with one hand while holding his phone with the other. After Jad finished speaking, Levi puffed a cloud of smoke and flatly replied, "I see. You can deal with it."
Instead of the end call tone, Levi heard Jad's voice again, this time asking, "By the way, how's your business?"
"What business?" asked Levi, not having any clue about what Jad was referring to.
"Didn't you agree to get engaged?" Jad clarified.
Levi's eyes narrowed when he heard that. Soon, the traffic light turned green, and he said solemnly, "I'm driving. I'll talk to you later."
"Huh?" Jad uttered, but Levi abruptly hung the phone up, not allowing Jad to continue speaking.
As he hit the road, his gaze was drawn to his left hand, which was holding the steering wheel. If earlier, there was only a ring on it, now, there was also a teeth mark left by Wylynn out of exasperation. Levi smiled as he touched it with his index finger, removed his wedding ring, opened the storage compartment, and tossed it in.
On the next day, Wylynn was snuggling on her bed when her phone suddenly rang, jolting her out of her dream. She picked it up and saw that it was Halle Coleman, her stepmother. Upon seeing it, she answered the call immediately and heard Halle's voice on the other end of the line. "Hello, Wy? I just received a letter from a lawyer this morning. Ean fought with his classmate yesterday, who's now in the hospital. Now, the lawyer is demanding compensation for the student's medical expenses and mental damage. I don't know what to do. His classmate's parents are rich and powerful, and they sent Ean to a police station," Halle cried anxiously.
Wylynn's heart pounded when she heard her stepmother, but she soon gradually sat up straight on her bed and asked, "Is Ean still at the police station?"
Bawling, Halle replied, "Yes. Please bring him home, Wy."
Wylynn took a deep breath to calm herself down, then said calmly, "Don't worry, give me the lawyer's phone number, and I'll handle it."
Wylynn knew Ean Jensen well, and it was not in his nature to get into trouble, so she couldn't figure out what had happened. She got out of bed, anxious, but stepped into something. When she looked down, she noticed a pure black, high-quality necktie. She was sure it was Levi's.
When Wylynn arrived at the police station, she went straight to the officer in charge and discussed some details regarding Ean's case. After a long discourse, she finally brought him out, and Ean immediately told her, "It was Yohann Zacharias who started it, Wy."
With that, everything became clear to Wylynn.
As she promised her stepmother, she took Ean out of the police station and sent him home.
Now that Ean's situation had been resolved, she turned to her phone and dialed the number Halle had sent her. After a moment of ringing, the call finally patched through, but all she could hear was noise. Even so, Wylynn took the initiative and spoke first. "Hello, is this lawyer Zager? I'm Ean's sister. I want to talk to you about the fight between the two children."
"Mr. Zacharias' luck seems to run out today. He keeps losing."
"Would you like to change into red pants?"
"Are you wearing them?"
Wylynn patiently listened to the different voices over the line, but after a long moment of waiting, she asked again, "Lawyer Zager, are you there?"
After a while, the lawyer finally replied, "Who's this?"
"I'm Ean's sister. I want to talk to you about the fight between the two children," Wylynn repeated herself. But then the man simply replied, "Oh."
Since the lawyer was finally on the other line, Wylynn turned on the loudspeaker so that she could hear his response despite his noisy background.
"Come to the Sunny Club. Let's talk here personally," the lawyer said before hanging up the phone.
Meanwhile, in the Sunny Club, Jad had just put his phone on the table after the call when Holton Barber, who was playing cards, asked, "Who are you inviting here?"
Joining them at the playing table, Jad replied, "Yohann fought with a classmate, and the kid's sister is coming."
"She has a nice voice," Holton commented, then faced Levi. "When she comes here, don't let her off the hook easily, even if she weeps and begs you. Show her that we're not someone she should mess up with."
When Levi did not respond, Jad kicked Holton's feet under the table, signaling him to stop.
Levi smoked quietly while watching the cards being shuffled. He then rolled up the sleeve of his polo with his hand holding a cigarette, and said coldly, "A little injury isn't a big deal."
Jad quickly shook his head in disagreement and refuted, "Don't say that. You didn't see how Yohann cried." He leaned back in his seat and added, "I mean, you two haven't talked in a long time. When are you going to be reconciled? He's your son, no matter what. Besides, I understand why he doesn't want you to remarry."
Jad was gazing at Levi intently, waiting for him to respond, but the latter's mouth was zipped shut as usual. Even when he was with them, Levi was so quiet that if one didn't know him, one would think he was mute. Hence, no one could guess what was on his mind.
Jad was in that state, wanting to say something, when he suddenly noticed the slightly open collar of Levi's polo.
'Is that...' Jad thought, freezing for a moment as an idea lingered in his mind.
Those wrinkles in Levi's polo hinted at only one thing. As such, he couldn't help but quibble, "You just agreed to get engaged, and you're already having sex?"

After an-hour's ride, Wylynn finally arrived at Sunny Club, and since Jad had already informed the club's bouncers about her arrival, one of the bouncers immediately led her upstairs, where Jad was. Seeing the place, she realized that the student's parents Ean fought with were wealthy and influential, just like what Halle had said, because ordinary people couldn't obviously afford to come into a place like this.
When they reached upstairs, the bouncer knocked on the VIP room door before opening it. As soon as she entered, several people's gazes were drawn to her all at once.
Wylynn then asked, "I'm Ean's sister. Who's Lawyer Zager here?"
Sitting at the table and fiddling with the cards, Jad cast a sidelong glance at her and said, "Come in."
Wylynn came closer to Jad and stated, "I already asked Ean about the fight, and he said it was Yohann who started it."
Raising an eyebrow and leaning back in his seat, Jad replied, "So?"
Despite the man's conceit, Wylynn didn't lose her cool and went on with the topic. "Legally speaking, my brother acted in self-defense," she explained calmly.
However, Jad only laughed and scoffed, "Miss, are you discussing law with a lawyer?"
Hearing this, Holton, who was next to Jad, nudged and ragged him. "What do you want to talk about besides the law then? Sex?"
As he spoke, his sensual gaze was fixed on Wylynn. Shuffling the cards, he again spoke, jesting, "Just how do you think you can make her comfortable without breaking the law, Jad?"
Hearing the two men's conversation, not to mention right in front of her, made Wylynn's body freeze and feel uncomfortable.
She had no idea these two serious-looking men would spit such obscene words in front of a woman. As the adage went, "the more decent you appear, the more obscene you are."
Fortunately, a man named Yerik Crawley appeared, carrying a bottle of wine, and intervened in the two's banter. He kicked Holton and said, "Hey, stop it, you two, be serious. Look at her; she seems scared."
Wylynn was trying to figure out how to get the conversation back on track when the bathroom door creaked open, and someone appeared.
Jad looked in that direction and said to Wylynn, "Well, don't say I didn't give you a chance. The client is already here. He's Yohann's father. If he lets you go, you're lucky; the matter is over."
While the latter was speaking, Wylynn also looked at the door and saw a man a few steps away. He was dressed in a suit and tie, his face stood out in the bright light, and he had a stillness that no one else possessed. For a brief moment, Wylynn felt like she didn't know him. No, she should have said he was a stranger out of bed.
Wylynn had thought about Levi's identity before. Based on his behavior and age, she assumed he had a successful career. But it never crossed her mind that he already had a 13-year-old son.
She quickly shook that thought and reasoned that as a sex partner, she should act as if she didn't know him when they were not in bed. With that, Wylynn stood up and faced him.
"Mr. Zacharias, I want to talk to you about the two children," she began, then paused for a while. Then she soon added, "Alone."
Levi stood leisurely, his hands in his trousers pockets. Before he spoke, Holton over there began to tease again, "I also want to chat with you alone, Miss. Would you mind?"
A smile flashed on Yerik's face upon hearing his friend trying to strike a woman boldly. He then jested, "Are you sure you only want to chat? You're easy to read, man. I'm sure you're fantasizing about something bad right now."
Chuckling, Jad also teased, "Sorry, but this lady obviously dislikes your vulgarity."
After dropping that line, he turned to Levi and reminded him, "Levi, limits, okay?"
Levi only looked at the three men, who had finally calmed down. He stood there for a moment, then turned around and walked past Wylynn.
Still in a daze, Wylynn could only follow him with her eyes.
Levi had already reached the door but soon paused as he noticed she was not following. "Are you just going to stand there?" he asked, his tone casual. "I thought you wanted us to talk alone," he added before exiting.
Wylynn immediately snapped out of her trance and followed him.
In the parking lot, she saw Levi sitting in the driver's seat, seemingly looking for something inside his car. Moments later, he came out with a cigarette and lit it up, one arm casually resting on the car roof.
At this moment, Wylynn had finally caught up to him. Levi puffed a cloud of smoke into the air and then looked at her.
"What do you want to talk about?" he asked with an unusually heavy voice.
As the cold night breeze blew through, Wylynn's hair got disheveled. She combed her hair with her fingers and straightforwardly answered, "My brother said Yohann started it, so it was basically self-defense."
She then glanced at Levi, checking his reaction, but all she could see was a calmness in him.
Since it seemed he didn't intend to interrupt her, she said, "But since Yohann ended up in the hospital, I will persuade my brother to apologize to him, but we will still pay for the medical expenses, just not the emotional damage. I'm sorry, but I don't think we should pay for it."
Levi skillfully shook off the ashes of his cigarette. After a long silence, he broke it as he replied, "Finished?"
Wylynn simply nodded as she responded, "Yes."
Levi returned the cigarette to his lip, and as he opened his mouth, a few smoke rings escaped. "It's their problem. Let them solve it. Now, let's talk about our business," he started.
"I left my tie at the hotel; did you keep it for me?" he queried, then returned his gaze to Wylynn, waiting for her response.
Wylynn's gaze quickly flew to Levi in surprise. After a while, she finally pulled herself together and answered shyly, "I threw it away."
Afterward, silence engulfed them as the awkwardness lingered in their atmosphere.
Secretly, Levi gazed into Wylynn's eye intently. But Wylynn wasn't aware of it as she fell into deep thought.
'We had already gone to bed but rarely talked about ourselves. And now that we're talking about it, I realize I have no idea what kind of person he really is,' she realized.
But it didn't matter anymore, so Wylynn looked him straight in the eye and said, "I think I made it very clear that now that you have a fiancee, it's already over for us."
Levi straightened up and puffed another puff of smoke, this time enveloping the top of her head like a circle of clouds.
"Are you... sure?" he asked slowly.
Wylynn only nodded in response.
Seeing that she was sure of it, Levi could only respond, "If so, I respect your decision."
Levi then threw the remaining cigarette on the ground, stepped on it with the toe of his leather shoes, and turned to face her. "Get in the car," he instructed, opening the passenger seat door for her.

With a puzzled expression on Wylynn's face, Levi quickly read what was on her mind and stated, "I want to do it again for the last time."
He said those words frankly, without a single joke or insult in his voice.
Wylynn moved slightly and thought of refusing. But Ean's image suddenly flashed through her mind before she could utter any words, prompting her to refrain from opening her mouth.
Just a while ago, she met Levi's friends, one of whom spat dirty words, and the other was a bully. If Levi got along well with such people, he must not be a good person either, since there was an adage saying, "birds of the same feather flock together." As such, Wylynn couldn't help but worry that Levi would fly into a rage and make things difficult for her family if she refused. Moreover, the 120 thousand dollars mental damage fee was too much for them to handle. With that in mind, Wylynn eventually got into the car, reasoning that Levi was very personable and patient in bed, which was better than provoking him.
After a few minutes of traveling, Levi pulled over to a hotel and got out of the car. Wylynn automatically followed him inside. When the elevator opened, she saw a man and a woman who she reckoned were still teenagers.
Throughout that time, the boy kept staring at them, making Wylynn feel a little uncomfortable. Probably because she knew Levi was engaged, she always felt the urge not to be recognized.
As such, when the elevator door opened, Wylynn dashed out, surprising Levi and causing him to freeze in place. A smile suddenly formed on his lips as he stared at her back for a while. Shaking his head, he then soon followed her.
After the two of them exited the elevator, the boy quickly removed the girl's hand from his arms, took out his phone, and dialed a number. Shortly after, the person on the other end of the line answered, and without any introduction, the boy quickly reported, "Yohann, I saw your father with a woman come to the hotel to reserve a room! Is that the woman you told me about? The woman who's gonna be your stepmother?"
For a minute, the boy only heard an eerie silence on the other line before a heavy roar.
"Fuck!" Yohann exclaimed. "Which hotel?" he asked, growling.
Beginning this worldly relationship with Levi was the most deviant decision Wylynn had ever made. She had always followed the rules for the past 27 years, and she never imagined she would have such a relationship with a complete stranger for three months, not talking about feelings but only about their body needs.
Nonetheless, Levi didn't fail Wylynn in giving her the most memorable experience, leading her to believe he learned that skill from screwing a lot of women.
But today, for some unknown reason, her mind was blank.
They were already inside a hotel room, and Levi's hands were around her waist, condescendingly looking down at her.
"Since it's breakup sex, shouldn't you be a little more dedicated? You've always been like this. I can't continue if you keep being absent-minded," he said solemnly.
Wylynn's face flushed instantly. She had never been this nervous with him again after their two encounters. But it was probably Levi's aura that made her feel a little sheepish today.
"Sorry, I'm not in the mood for this today," Wylynn said softly, clutching the sheet. Then she offered, hesitantly, "How about... the other day?"
However, Levi was adamant and firmly stated, "No, I want it today."
After that, he leaned in to kiss her, but Wylynn pushed him away and said, "Wait, wait a minute!"
Luckily, Levi was a patient man, so he stopped and heard her out.
"Do you really not care about my brother and your son's fight?" Wylynn asked, bringing back the earlier topic.
Instead of becoming irritated, Levi remained calm, his tone remaining constant as he repeated his words. "Like I said, let them deal with the problem."
Hearing these words, Wylynn heaved a sigh of relief inwardly.
Seeing that she had finally relaxed, Levi gently pinched her chin and asked solemnly, "Can we continue now?"
"Ok..." Wylynn only uttered as her voice was engulfed in his hungry kiss. For the first time, Levi appeared to have lost his patience, as he did not allow her to speak.
While Wylynn was debating whether or not to do something, someone suddenly knocked on the door loudly, startling both of them.
Soon after, a ferocious roar erupted from behind the closed door. "Dad! Dad!"
Then there was another harsh knock on the door as if the person behind it wanted to smash it open with his knuckles.
"Are you in there? Come out!" the voice rang out again.
The momentum they painstakingly established was easily ruined by that noise.
Realizing that someone outside knew where they were, Wylynn's body quaked terribly. It was the first time she had experienced such a thing. In nervousness, she immediately drew the blanket and wrapped it around herself.
In contrast to her, Levi appeared much calmer as he smoothly rolled over on the bed and got out of it. Then he put on his trousers slowly, buttoned his polo, picked up Wylynn's clothes on the floor, and threw them back at her. "Put them on," he gently instructed.

Upon ensuring Wylynn had already picked up her clothes and was out of sight, Levi only walked to the door to open it. After doing so, Yohann's figure welcomed his gaze. The kid still had band-aids on his forehead and chin, but he didn't seem to mind it as his emotions got the best of him. His flaming red eyes cast a dagger-like glare, and his face was etched with indignation. As only a 13 years old boy, his height couldn't be compared with his father's, but his stubbornness surpassed the latter.
Levi saw his son's expression and the invincible question marks on Yohann's head, but he shot a question first before the latter did. "What are you doing here?" he asked, without any trace of emotion.
Levi was a strict father to Yohann, so the latter had always feared him. Thus, in such a face-to-face confrontation, the kid's aura was overshadowed by his father's, but his stubbornness still didn't waver, and he even attempted to walk past his father.
However, Levi quickly acted. He put pressure on the door to prevent the kid from entering and growled with a hint of warning, "Yohann."
Yohann's body froze as soon as he heard his father's voice. But, clutching his hands tightly, he looked at Levi and exclaimed, "I don't agree with your remarriage!"
"Whether I remarry or not, that's my business," Levi coldly replied.
Feeling extremely aggrieved, Yohann went on arguing with his father. "But I'm your son. You must get my consent before remarrying!" he grumbled, glowering.
After gathering his courage, he soon boldly added, "I don't like that woman."
"Then who do you like?" Levi asked, challenging his son.
Yohann opened his mouth but couldn't get himself to utter anything. Of course, he disliked everyone.
Seeing his son's gaping mouth, Levi wasted no time and abruptly ended the topic, saying, "Since your injury is not that serious, don't hide in the hospital any longer and go home tonight."
But Yohann, as an obstinate child, raised his voice again, yelling, "I'm not going back!"
Levi seemed to have reached his limit and snapped, "Then never go home!"
After that, he slammed the door shut.
At that time, Wylynn had already dressed and was hiding in a corner for fear of being seen.
She was at a loss for words at that moment, as it was her first time being nearly caught doing that obscene activity with Levi, not just by a random person, but by Levi's son!
Nonetheless, Levi's behavior bothered her the most. After witnessing the scene, her impression of him deteriorated even further!
Seeing the man coming back, Wylynn straightened up and couldn't help but tell him off, "Mr. Zacharias, he's already 13 years old, and he can already understand a lot of things. As a father, you should give him a good set of examples, but what you did earlier will surely leave a scar in him instead of good morals."
She had heard the entire conversation between the father and son just now, and she couldn't help but feel sorry for Yohann and vexed with Levi. He already had a fiance, but he was still into such nasty things, and he was also so impatient with his child.
Levi heard every word Wylynn had said, but his expression remained unchanged. He walked over to the bed, took up the cigarette box on the bedside table, drew a stick from it, and lit it.
"He's my son. Whatever I want to do with him is up to me," he said, his face expressionless and cold.
After a brief pause, a smirk suddenly flashed on his face. He looked at Wylynn and added, "You have so many opinions about this matter. Why? You want to take care of him?"
The chaffing tone in Levi's voice didn't escape Wylynn's ear. For no apparent reason, she suddenly felt like choking. But then she pursed her lips and countered, "I'm just worried that if you don't educate your child well, he'll come to trouble my brother again."
In an instant, Levi fell silent.
Upon assessing the mood, Wylynn picked up her phone that had fallen on the bed and said, "I think you're no longer interested in continuing this. So, our relationship officially ended now."
After gathering all her belongings and fixing herself up, she directly left the room without looking back.
Levi, who was about to be left, stared intently at her disappearing back.
Shortly after Wylynn had left, his phone suddenly rang. He sluggishly picked it up, and the person on the other end of the line asked, "Mr. Zacharias, what time will you come to the company tomorrow?"

Just a few months ago, Wylynn joined CompanyMeta, the largest design firm in Bellona City specializing in large-scale tooling projects, and just earlier, she learned that there would be a new boss. Since it was said that a new broom sweeps clean, enthusiasm suddenly surged into Wylynn's body. But she was also worried that the new boss would extinguish an inconspicuous little fire like her first in order to stand out.
CompanyMeta occupied the entire flat floor on the 16th floor of the No. 81 Building. As a result, Wylynn had to take an elevator, which would take a long time due to the company's floor number. Luckily, she successfully timed in before 9:30 am.
As it was still early, only a few of her colleagues were present in the design department, and upon walking in, a woman standing in front of her desk, seemingly waiting for her, welcomed her.
Wylynn put her bag down first before looking at her and asking, "Is there something wrong?"
With a bitchy aura, Litzy Sacher folded her arms across her chest and sharply said, "Since you and Neo have already broken up, don't make excuses to tangle him any longer."
Upon hearing the warning tone in the latter's voice, Wylynn said ridiculously, "Litzy, you're the third party involved in my relationship. What right do you have to say that to me?"
Due to the unexpected attack, Litzy's expression faltered, but she still managed to declare, "I don't care what happened to you two in the past. All I need you to remember is that I'm Neo's girlfriend now!"
Shortly after, she remembered something and added, "Anyway, he mentioned he'll go to your family house this weekend; why?"
Litzy learning about it didn't bring any shock to Wylynn. Cooly, she goaded, "Why don't you ask him?"
Wylynn was not easily piqued, but her short interaction with Litzy pushed her to the limit.
While Litzy was frowning in annoyance, Wylynn even showed her a smile and said, "Litzy, Neo is not only my ex-boyfriend but also my stepmother's nephew. Strictly speaking, he is a relative of our family. Do you really think he's no longer allowed to meet his relatives after you two get together?"
She then snorted as her brow shot upward and scoffed, "Are you that afraid of losing him? Then why should you get a rope and tie him up? That way, you two will be together 24 hours!"
"You..." Litzy uttered only in her rage.
Wylynn and Litzy went on with their war of words when they suddenly heard two coughs, and Naia Wagener called Wylynn out.
Only then did their catfight come to an end. They turned around only to see several people standing at the door. Aside from their colleagues from the design department, Vice President Hachtel was also there, along with a striking man. The latter stood there in a neat suit and had his mouth shut. Whether in appearance or his temperament, he was clearly superior to others, making him stand out from the crowd.
As soon as Wylynn met the man's gaze, her body froze in place, and her mind went blank.
Just then, Vice President Hachtel introduced the man. "This is President Zacharias. Starting today, he will lead our company."
However, the Vice President's loud, clear voice did not help her break out of her trance.
There were a few steps between them, but Levi's enticing aura had reached her.
Finally, Wylynn woke up when the new boss spoke. "Is that the professional quality that the staff in the design department have, Vice President Hachtel? Discussing private matters during work hours? Their voices were even so loud that everyone on this floor could clearly hear them. I don't see any team cohesion here."
"Mr. Zacharias..." Vice President Hachtel attempted to explain, but Levi didn't wait for him and directly headed toward the President's office.
Vice President Hachtel quickly followed him, still trying to explain as they strode away.
Litzy was embarrassed as the new boss had witnessed her squabble on his first day. It would undoubtedly make a negative impression on her.
She scowled at Wylynn and spat, "Are you satisfied now?"
Wylynn hadn't yet responded, but Litzy had already turned her back and walked away.
Employees in the department looked at Wylynn with sympathy for a few moments before the crowd dispersed. Naia approached Wylynn and whispered, "Is she picking on you again?"
Looking at Litzy's disappearing back, Wylynn pursed her lips, clenched her fists tightly, and sharply uttered, "She's sick."
As the new CEO of the CompanyMeta, Levi held several meetings one after another on his first in the company. Knowing this and witnessing the scene earlier, employees knew that the new boss was strict. Hence, they did not dare to relax even a bit. But the most frightened among them all was Wylynn.
Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine the man who had been in her bed the day before would be her new boss today.
Wylynn was at the meeting at that moment, but her mind was elsewhere, wondering, 'Have I offended Levi in the last three months? It's very impossible that it's all because of what happened yesterday, isn't it?'
Her thoughts were racing throughout the meeting, and they didn't pause until the meeting ended at 3:30 pm. Only then did Wylynn breathe a sigh of relief.
In her cubicle, her thoughts again wander, rendering her unfocused and only relying on her habitual instinct for a long time. Realizing this, she grabbed a cup and went to the pantry to make coffee hoping it would help her wake up.
Unexpectedly, when Wylynn walked into the room, she saw the man standing in front of the coffee machine, his back facing her.
Hearing some footsteps, Levi turned his head and looked at her.
Wylynn's slack nerves tightened instantly, and she stuttered, "Bo... boss!"

Levi removed his suit before heading out of his office, leaving him in polo with the cuffs rolled up to his elbow, exposing his muscular forearms.
Upon seeing Wylynn, he put the mug he was holding down on the table, turned around, and leaned on the bar, standing a little idly. He then picked up the cigarette box beside him and lit it skillfully. He raised his gaze to her, puffed a cloud of smoke, and said, "Lock the door."
Wylynn couldn't make out what he was saying, so she asked sheepishly, "Huh?"
Levi flicked his cigarette to remove the burned ashes in it and repeated in a deep voice, "I said, lock the door."
This time, Wylynn heard him clearly, but she was kind of hesitant to do what he instructed her. Still, he was her boss now, not just her bed partner, so that she couldn't say no to him.
After reminding herself of their current situation, Wylynn did as she was told. She locked the room door, turned around, and stood there like a stone statue.
Having something to tell her, Levi moved his hand, holding the cigarette back and forth, and said, "Come here."
Upon hearing his commanding tone, Wylynn could only walk over to him, and as she got closer, a familiar scent of cedar filled her nose.
In a joshing manner, Levi spoke, "Weren't you really angry with how I taught my child just yesterday? So why are you cowering now?"
Who wouldn't? After deciding to be his long-term partner in bed for three months and suddenly becoming her boss, what face did she still have to face him?
Nevertheless, she had the feeling that if he hadn't had a fiance, their relationship would have continued.
Thinking of this, Wylynn felt her ear warm.
Before that heat spread over her face, she took a deep breath, raised her head, and looked at him with a pitiful face. "Boss, could you please not fire me? I worked so hard to join CompanyMeta. I don't want to be kicked out like this," she pled, her eyes glistening with tears.
Wylynn said so as she felt Levi didn't want their relationship to become public. Of course, his reputation would suffer if that happened, especially now that he was the company's CEO. So, before Levi found faults in her and fired her, it was better to beg him now. Besides, they were the only ones here, so no one would see her doing it.
Levi saw how piteous Wylynn's face was and how she begged him, but he just smiled and asked, "When did I say I would fire you?"
As those words fell on Wylynn's ear, her tears that were about to fall suddenly retreated, and she was instantly stupefied.
Levi crushed the cigarette against an ashtray and slid his hands into the pockets of his trousers. Looking down at her, he said slowly, "I just sent you a chat on Facebook."
At that moment, she wished the earth swallowed her whole in extreme shame of herself.
Despite that, she courageously bit the bullet and explained, "I just thought it would be better for us to burn down the bridge that connects us since we no longer have a relationship. Besides..."
As she spoke, she could refrain from glancing at his forearm, which distracted her and caused her to lose track of what she was saying.
Levi, on the other hand, patiently waited for her next word. But after a while of Wylyyn's silence, he prompted, "Besides...?"
With that, Wylynn finally pulled out from the distraction and swallowed hard first before continuing, "Your fiancee will surely mind that, which you might argue about."
Levi fell silent afterward, prompting Wylynn to look at him. But he soon recovered and said, "I thought I made myself clear yesterday that we should do it again before we separate."
After a brief pause, he asked, "Do you think you accomplished it yesterday?"
Wylynn pondered it for a moment and answered in a confused tone, "Probably... Probably not."
"Then it's not over yet," Levi concluded.
He then lifted Wylynn's chin with his thumb and index finger to face her to him and said again, "Add me on Facebook again. I'll watch you do it."
For the nth time today, she was again stunned and stripped of her freedom of choice.
Under Levi's gaze, Wylynn sent a friend request to his account, but she didn't add him to any of her group chats since he only wanted her to add him on Facebook.
Seeing his satisfied expression, Wylynn asked tentatively, "Is there anything else, boss?"
Levi straightened up, forcing her to raise her head and look up at him due to their height difference.
Then, with a cold expression, he stuffed a card into her hand and said, "Come to the hotel tonight."

The room card given to her still had his scent.
Wylynn was stunned for a while, and only when she raised her head did she notice the close distance between them. She couldn't help but reminisce when Levi was at such a distance in the past countless nights, hugging her waist and kissing her down.
Wylynn felt her heart race at the memories that resurfaced. She balled her hands into a fist and stuttered, "Boss..."
At that moment, they heard the pantry door click. Wylynn stood straight to fix herself while the door was being opened. Whoever it was couldn't open it, though, and the confused voice of none other than Naia echoed, "Huh? Who locked the door? Is somebody in there?"
Levi sighed and stepped back from Wylynn before walking out. Naia looked like he had seen a ghost when he opened the door. Her voice shook when she greeted Levi, "Hello, boss!"
"The door knob is broken. Find someone to fix it." Levi sounded adamant. Wylynn overheard his little white lie and glanced in Naia's direction.
"Broken? Oh, sure, sir, I'll fix it. I'll find someone who can fix it," she nervously replied.
...
Wylynn's car was rear-ended last week and was being repaired at the 4S shop. She had been riding in Naia's car recently, going home. Wylynn listened to Naia's chat along the way about how attractive their new boss was, how captivating his voice was, and how engaging he was in meetings. Wylynn could only sigh because Naia had no idea what she was talking about.
"The new CEO is very attractive. If I can get him to sleep with me, I can make a lot of money. What do you think? Do you think I should try and seduce him? If it works, this hotel project will be ours, and Litzy can go mad. I don't care." Naia turned a little serious, thinking about the possibilities.
Wylynn was riding a shotgun with her hand in her pocket. She gripped the hotel card so tight that it could melt at the heat of her palms. Hearing Naia's words, she reminded her coldly, "He's already engaged, Naia. Don't even think about it. Be careful not to cause trouble."
Naia's brows furrowed, and she cast a side glance at Wylynn. "How do you know?"
Wylynn bit her tongue and sighed. She didn't want to answer. Of course, how can she tell Naia that she asked such a straightforward question in bed?
"During the meeting, didn't you see that he was wearing a BVLGARI wedding ring?" she replied instead, hoping Naia would be convinced.
"Really? He was wearing one?" Naia raised a brow and tilted her head, carefully recalling such detail. She gave up when she couldn't remember it. She heaved a sigh of regret. "That's a pity then."
Wylynn felt relieved when Naia instantly dropped the thought but was caught off-guard with her next question. "By the way, Wylynn, how's that guy you date once a week? Have you ever thought about turning it into something serious?"
"If Neo can use that despicable Litzy, you can also use someone to get even," Naia retorted angrily.
Wylynn's heartbeat nearly stopped at the mention of Neo Jensen's name. It made her uncomfortable. She remained silent for a moment before replying, "I didn't think about it. I'm not ready for any commitment."
"I'm done with him," she added after a brief pause.
"What? Why?" Naia pressed, clearly puzzled.
Wylynn was distracted by Neo's three words and made a random excuse, "He just can't...you know."
Naia wasn't buying it and was surprised at her answer. "Didn't it work well before?"
She still remembered the first few times Wylynn arrived to work every morning. She always seemed to be in a bad mood. The hickey on her neck was also visible; anyone could see how intense it was at first glance.
When Naia turned to ask her friend, she was already blushing. Because of that, she continued to tease her. "Although flowers don't bloom until you're 27, you should still pay attention to your body. You must understand that we, women, are as vulnerable as men." Naia smiled when she saw Wylynn red as a tomato and added, "So, did you make him fully exhausted?"
"Naia! What the hell." Wylynn covered her face in embarrassment.

Wylynn said her goodbyes to Naia as the car parked outside Turnhill Community. She stopped by the trash can downstairs before getting in. She rummaged for the hotel card from her pocket and paused for a moment before she folded it in half and tossed it in.
Despite growing up in a different environment, Wylynn's stepmother Halle took wonderful care of her and never changed over the years. Even though she and Neo had broken up, there was no bad blood between her and her Aunt Halle.
Halle kept serving Wylynn vegetables during dinner when Wylynn suddenly remembered, "Right, is Neo coming this weekend? What is he going to do here?"
"Ean is going to move dormitories, and your Aunt Halle and I have some stuff to do over the weekend. He has so much stuff to move and needs help." Jakob explained. Ean, sitting next to Wylynn, originally wanted to concentrate on getting more salad. After he heard Jakob and Wylynn's concerns, he finally joined the conversation and said, "I can move it slowly by myself. I don't need his help."
Wylynn knew that Ean was only trying to protect her now that her relationship with Neo had gone south. She reached out and poked his forehead lightly. "With that body of yours, I doubt you can do it."
Wylynn gave it a thought and said, "I'll go and help you move in this weekend. Aunt Halle, can you call Neo and tell him he doesn't need to come?"
"Wy..." Halle insisted, but Jakob tugged at her sleeve to stop her.
The mood during dinner turned serious. Wylynn helped Halle clean the kitchen and went to bed early. For Wylynn, it wasn't easy to forget Neo. There were many memories of him in this house. Everyone thought they would end up together for eight years, making everybody jealous. But in the end, he cheated on her without hesitation.
Trust, just like glass, once you broke it, it would never be the same again. It could be fixed, but the cracks would remain. So it's often better to leave things broken than to injure yourself attempting to put the pieces back together.
In Wylynn and Neo's case, there would be no second chances. It would be impossible for both to reconcile, even as friends. Wylynn suddenly remembered a sentence she read on Facebook a long time ago.
[A glass of wine to the past, for no matter how much you love it, you will never look back.]
For some reason, she couldn't help but post it to her circle of friends, blocking her colleagues and most people. Her eyes felt a little tired, so she put her phone down. Sighing deeply, she got up from bed and went to the bathroom with her slippers. Wylynn took a shower and finished just after 10 o'clock. She wanted to go to bed early.
She changed into her pajamas, lay on the bed, and checked her phone. A dozen messages in her circle of friends made Wylynn curious that she clicked in doubtfully and saw Naia and Sahana chatting in her post.
Naia: [Are you feeling empty, lonely, or cold? Do you need some company? Why are you posting this kind of stuff at this time of night? Do you need me to pick you up now?]
Sahana: [Wy is with someone, why would she still need you?]
Naia: [No, no, Wy said that her little boy toy is useless, and she's now planning to move on to the next one.]
Sahana: [What? I don't think Wy's the type to say something like that.]
Naia: [It's true! If you don't believe me, ask Wylynn yourself, she told me personally that guy couldn't do it.]
All this bantering between her friends woke her up. She then remembered adding Levi's profile earlier today and forgot to hide the post from him. Naia is their mutual friend, and she did not reply to Sahana for two comments but left a message directly.
This means that Levi may see her circle of friends.
"Shit!" Wylynn deleted the post immediately after realizing it. She then returned to her group chat and asked Naia. [What nonsense were you talking about just now! What if someone sees it!]

Naia replied quickly: [Who? Who will see it?]
Then, she sent a puzzled emoji: [What's wrong? Why are you so worked up? Is your little boyfriend our mutual friend?]
Wylynn rubbed her temples, suddenly feeling a pending headache.
She didn't even know what to say. Should she tell Naia and Sahana that the man was Levi, CompanyMeta's new boss?
Negative. According to Naia's character, it would only take three days until everyone in the company finds out about their new boss. Wylynn didn't want that. She wanted to work in CompanyMeta for a few more years. She decided to ignore Naia for the time being.
Meanwhile, Naia's response piqued Sahana's curiosity, and she asked Wylynn: [Why, are you really going to move on to find another boyfriend? Do you want me to introduce you to someone?]
Wylynn: [No comment.]
Wylynn couldn't sleep anymore. She decided to put Levi in her group of colleagues and then prayed in her heart he never saw her circle of friends.
Wylynn was always on the lookout. When the company held the morning meeting the next day, she couldn't help but observe Levi's expression.
He was sitting in a chair, adjusting the conference microphone, and a faint rumble resounded throughout the conference room from time to time.
His aura was a little profound, which caused the atmosphere of the morning meeting to be very depressing. Vice President Hachtel seemed much more relaxed every time he held a meeting.
Levi was intensely focused on business affairs. He didn't even look at her after the meeting. Wylynn subconsciously heaved a sigh of relief, thinking he probably didn't see anything about last night.
They had also kept their connection private for so long, and he had never once interacted with her circle of friends. Perhaps she was overthinking, and he saw nothing at all.
Wylynn was distracted all day. It was already lunchtime, and she wasn't done with her task yet. Naia went out to eat alone, and her other colleagues also left. Wylynn sat down on the desk and lazily worked on the weekly newspaper.
Just as she felt a little sleepy, she heard footsteps behind her. A familiar-looking hand that had held her numerous times suddenly reached out in front of her. The wrist beside hers sported an expensive watch; she saw it was one o'clock.
"Aren't you eating?" he spoke softly, his voice almost tickling her head.
Wylynn inhaled the familiar scent of cedar on his body and blushed inexplicably. She cautiously looked around first and realized they were alone in the office. "I'm not yet done," she muttered.
"Is that so?" Levi hummed.
Afraid she'd get too close to Levi, Wylynn carefully turned around. Unfortunately, when she lifted her head to meet his gaze, he was already centimeters away from hers. "Boss, what are you..." she stuttered nervously.
Levi locked his gaze on her. "Why were you staring at me the whole time during the meeting?" he questioned calmly, without a hint of humor.
The question touched her ego a little. He must have thought she was obsessing with him during the meeting. She knew it wasn't the case.
So, she suppressed the discomfort in her chest and replied to him, "I had some questions that needed to be explained more clearly."
"That's it?" Levi obviously wasn't convinced.
Wylynn nodded, acting oblivious. "What else could it be?"
Levi reached his other hand to rest on her work table, trapping her between his arms. "Why didn't you come to the hotel last night? I was waiting for you," he asked, making Wylynn's heart race.
"I had an emergency last night," Wylynn lied without thinking.
Levi raised a brow, certainly not convinced. "What's the emergency?"
Wylynn's thoughts froze for a moment. Just when she was thinking about an excuse, he tapped the table with his finger lightly, and the soft sound of his finger against the wood brought her back to her senses.
"Looking for your next boyfriend?" he suddenly asked.
His voice was loud and clear as the day, and Wylynn heard him. Her mind went blank instantly, her face as red as a tomato.
"Also, what do you mean I can't do it? Can't do what?" he added.

Wylynn wanted to strangle Naia at the moment. This was precisely why she never told Naia about her office romance.
Wylynn raised her head slightly to meet Levis intense gaze. His eyes were unfathomably mesmerizing, and Wylynn adored them. His eyes sparkled like the galaxy, and Wylynn couldnt help but get lost in them.
At times Levi stared at her like this; Wylynn could feel there was more to their relationship than just fun and pleasure.
"Thats nonsense. Naia didnt know what she was talking about. I didn't mean it that way, Boss." Wylynn nervously defended herself.
Levi kept his stance ambiguous and serious. "Didnt mean what? The one where she said you were looking for your next boyfriend or the one where I couldnt satisfy you? Levi asked as he lifted her chin up with his finger.
Wylynn quickly shook her head in response. Both of them. Theyre just a bunch of nonsense that Naia made up.
Silence engulfed them for a moment as their banter turned into an intense gaze battle. Wylynn didnt want to play a losing game where she couldnt win, but she risked it. Although she didnt want to admit it, his eyes had become her weakness. Levi eventually withdrew his hand and stepped away from her, giving her room to breathe.
Just as Wylynn was about to heave a sigh of relief, Levi pulled the chair beside her and sat down. He faced her and took out a cigarette case from his pocket. Wylynn watched as Levi took the last stick before throwing the case in the trash can under her table. Levi pressed the lighter and lit the cigarette. He took a deep puff before facing her.
"Lets talk about how you feel then," he said.
Wylynn raised a brow, confused. How do I feel about what?
Levi put the joint back in his mouth and took a long drag before exhaling smoke. He then rolled the cuffs of his sleeves before answering, Sleeping with me.
Wylynn was taken aback by his straightforward question. Levi didnt look like he was joking at all. In fact, he sounded calm and sincere, making Wylynn highly uncomfortable.
Wylynn couldnt meet his eyes this time. Boss, were at work, she said, her voice almost inaudible.
"So? It's lunch break now," Levi said, glancing at his watch. "I want to chat with you, can't I?" he added. He was starting to enjoy this now. He didnt expect hed enjoy teasing Wylynn.
He patiently waited for Wylynn to answer. Wylynn, on the other hand, didnt know what to say. In fact, when Levi dropped the question, she started to question herself too. What did she feel about him? At first, it was only for pleasure, until he confused her.
"Isnt this harassment? Were both at work. Im here as an employee and you as my Boss. I dont think its appropriate for you to ask something like that," Wylynn said, irritated.
Levi broke into fits of laughter at her answer. He raised his hands as a surrender and asked, "Fine, what is not harassment for you then?"
He tilted his head for a moment, as if thinking, then asked, "I think I asked the same question when we were in bed, and you think its fun, but now you call it harassment when I ask it at work?"
Wylynn felt cornered at Levis interrogation. She hesitated to speak up because they were at work, and he was the Boss. On the other hand, she knew Levi would just go on and tease her if she didnt say anything. They werent exactly in a special kind of relationship to talk about feelings anyway.
"Boss, you already have a fiance. You got yourself a teenager as well. Dont you think youre setting a bad example for him? Lets not make our relationship more complicated than it already is, shall we?" Wylynn said adamantly.
Levis brows furrowed at her tone. The cigarette between his fingers was already half-lit. He tapped off the ash, and just as he was about to speak, his phone rang again.
"What's the matter?" Levi answered.
Wylynn took this as an opportunity to escape. She took the cup and headed for the pantry, but Levi grabbed her arm as soon as she got up. Levi didnt want her to leave; he wasnt done with her yet. Wylynn saw the cigarette between his fingers, just centimeters away from her skin. She then felt something warm pooling inside her, but it wasnt because of the heat or the smoke, but his touch.
Meanwhile, Jad asked Levi on the phone, "Yohan is going to move into the dormitories this Saturday. Will you accompany him, or should I?"
Levi sat in the chair and rested his elbows on the armrest. He looked up at Wylynn, contemplating, before he replied, "Im quite busy. I think you should go."
