After five years of marriage, I received a wedding invitation from abroad.

The groom is my husband, Arnold Willowstream.

The bride is my younger sister, Yasmine Cooper.

In disbelief, I decide to fly to Ainland and witness the wedding for myself. But the moment I see Arnold holding Yasmine and kissing her deeply, my heart shatters completely.

Fireworks explode in the sky, and glowing words appear above"Happy Marriage, Mr. Willowstream and Ms. Yasmine."

In that instant, it feels like a blade piercing straight through my chest. Watching them look so happy together, I feel like I'm the one intruding on someone else's marriage.

Love is a game for twothere's no room for a third. If he's already gotten married to someone else, what place do I have left in his life?

Rather than waiting to be pushed out, I choose to walk away on my own and at least keep the last shred of dignity.
Chapter 1
I crouched in the corner, my heart in my throat as the sound of footsteps grew nearer.
"Congratulations, Mr. Willowstream. You have one wife at home and another abroad. It must be nice!" a subordinate teased.
My heart clenched painfully.
Then, I heard Arnold Willowstream chuckle. "Nonsense. Yasmine stood by me when I became a cripple back then. That's why I agreed to marry her. She truly loves me and would give up everything for me.
"But Juniper will always be the one I love. No one is to mention this to herever."
His voice was gentle, firm, and sharp as a blade carving straight through my heart.
He used to bring me my favorite coffee every morning. On my birthday, he filled the sky with drones and prepared a sea of flowers just to tell me how much he loved me.
Then came the accident. That terrible crash hurt his legs and made him a different man altogether.
As the boss of a mafia family, he couldn't accept becoming a cripple. His personality changed overnight. He started pushing me away and forcing me to divorce him.
"Juniper, I'm a broken man now. If you stay, I'll only drag you down. Someone like me should just die alone."
He threw a signed divorce agreement at me. His eyes were bloodshot, his voice hoarse and hopeless.
"Sign it. Let's end this marriage. Go find the life you deserve."
However, how could I leave him when he needed me the most?
I held his hand tightly and told him unhesitatingly, "I'm not going anywhere, Arnold. Never. Stop saying those things. I'm staying with you."
But it was like he couldn't hear me. He spiraled deeper into despair. Some days, he'd lash out in anger.
"Juniper! What are you waiting for? Just sign the damn papers! What's the point of clinging to a cripple like me? Leave me. Please. Once you're gone, I won't have any reason left to live"
I never signed the papers. I stayed by his side, no matter how hard things got.
To help him walk again, I left the country. I spent endless nights buried in the lab, trying to develop a treatment that would restore his legs.
I wore the ruby necklace he gave me every day, never once taking it off. Arnold had hidden a tiny camera inside so he could always see me.
That connection, even across the ocean, kept me going. Thank goodness, he finally recovered.
But now, I stood there watching him marry Yasmine Cooper. I heard him speak about his feelings toward her.
So, this is what happened during the two years I was away.
Yasmine took her chance when I was gone.
Despite knowing Arnold was my husband, she still threw herself at him without a care.
And Arnold Even though he loved me, he went through with the wedding. He even ordered everyone to keep it a secret from me.
The thought put my heart in unbearable pain.
I clamped a hand over my mouth to stifle the sob that threatened to escape.
I don't even remember how I got out of the venue. All I knew was that when I got home, tears were streaming down my face.
I sat at my desk, staring at the divorce papers Arnold had signed back then.
I'd wanted to tear them to shreds so many times before to remind myself I'd never leave him.
But now, I picked up a pen and signed my name without a second thought.
The divorce was finalized.
A single tear fell onto the page, smudging the ink and blurring my vision.
I knew, in that moment, I had lost Arnold for good. The love we once shared was gone forever.
Chapter 2
After signing the divorce papers, I pulled myself together and decided to return to the medical research team.
Yasmine had always been better at winning people overeven our parents showed her more affection, even though I was also their daughter. Every time I went home for the holidays, their faces would stiffen the moment they saw me.
Eventually, I stopped feeling much for that family.
Before I got involved with Arnold, I had planned to further my studies in medical research. I gave up my career for him.
Now, it was time to start over.
As it happened, my mentor was preparing a classified project in Alpene. I applied and was quickly accepted into the team.
In three days, I would be heading to a secret base for closed-door research work.
It also meant I'd be leaving Arnold and starting a new chapter in my life.
However, just two days before my departure, Arnold unexpectedly returned home. He looked at my packed suitcases in confusion.
"Juniper, where are you going?" His voice carried a trace of panic.
I lowered my head, avoiding his eyes. "I... I'm going on a trip with some friends. It'll be a short one."
"No!" He cut me off sharply, standing up. "It's too dangerous out there. Stay home. I'll protect you."
With a small frown, I was about to explain when he took my hand and started toward the door.
"Stop thinking about going so far away from me, Juniper. Just stay by my side. Come with me, I've got a surprise for you."
Before I could say no, he had already stuffed me into the car.
The whole ride, he held my hand tightly, as if afraid I'd disappear at any moment.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a rose garden.
It was the same place we'd once visited. While it was just an overgrown patch of land back then, Arnold had transformed it into a beautiful sea of roses.
"Juniper, I know you've always loved roses, so I planted all of these for you."
His gaze was tender, full of deep affection.
However, just then, a familiar figure appeared in my sight.
It was Yasmine. Dressed in a flowing white dress, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers, she strolled toward us with a smile.
"Junie, Arnold," she greeted us warmly.
That was when I realized that Yasmine had called Arnold's name in that sickly sweet tone since the start.
