When it was time for year-end bonuses, I announced that everyones bonus would be doubled this year.

But the company SnapChat group instantly blew up with a barrage of insults aimed at me.

Thinking they were unhappy with the amount, I immediately announced the bonus would be multiplied tenfold.

To my shock, the employees reacted even more violently this time. Someone even smashed up my office.

I was completely baffled when I heard. Gritting my teeth, I decided to increase it to a hundred times the original amount.

Yet, the next day, as soon as I stepped through the company doors, the employees swarmed me in a furious mob and beat me to death without a word.

I died without ever understanding why.

Then, I opened my eyes again. I had been reborn, back to the very day I announced the year-end bonuses.


My entire body trembled as I stared at the message box, where the notice for the doubled bonus was still drafted. I frantically deleted every last word.

Recalling my gruesome death in the previous life, all because I had doubled the year-end bonus, I was filled with a chilling confusion.

Normally, I was incredibly good to my employees. They had all the benefits they could ask for, a four-day work week, and absolutely no overtime.

I even set up a digital feedback system where employees could submit any suggestions, and Id implement improvements immediately.

They had even independently nominated me for a 'Best Boss' award from the local business community, which hung proudly in my office.

As I was deep in thought, Liam, my boyfriend, pushed the door open and strolled in, smiling softly at me.

"Hey, babe, everyone's asking about this year's bonus. Have you decided how we're going to do it?"

I froze.

In my previous life, Liam had also been beaten to death trying to protect me.

Our lives were on the line this time. I had to make a careful decision.

After a moment of thought, I tentatively asked, "What do people think? I want to hear their opinions."

Liam shook his head, a wry smile on his face. "I knew youd ask that, so I already checked. But everyone just said they'd follow your lead."

With the ball back in my court, I felt a familiar frustration.

After a brief pause, I gently tapped my desk. "How about we stick to last year's standard?"

No changes. That had to be safe, right?

"That could work" Liam nodded. "But we've had a lot more business this year. If the bonus stays the same, won't people feel?"

My heart clenched. I quickly changed my mind. "Okay, then besides the bonus, we'll give everyone an extra three thousand dollars in shopping vouchers!"

Last time, the problem arose from increasing the bonus amount. This time, Id switch to physical gifts. Surely, that wouldn't cause any trouble?

Liam agreed, then posted the announcement in the SnapChat group.

I waited anxiously for the employees' reactions.

Thankfully, the first reply was a huge thumbs-up emoji.

More replies followed, all positive. Soon, the screen was flooded with approval.

I breathed a sigh of relief. This disaster, at least, seemed to have been averted.

But just as I was about to move on to other tasks, Liam's face suddenly contorted. "Ava, look at the messages in the group!"

A chill shot down my spine. I reopened the chat. Message after message popped up:

"We hit double last year's performance, and Ava gives us an extra three thousand in shopping vouchers? Wow, how generous!"

"Company B, with less than half our performance, gets double our year-end perks. Clearly, Ava is the most 'generous' boss!"
