When I turned twenty-two, my adoptive parents lined up their three biological sons in front of me and told me to pick one to marry.

This time, I chose their adopted son without hesitation.

Everyone was stunned by my decision, since everyone knew I was totally into Eric Frost.

Back then, I finally got to marry Eric, and he ended up inheriting the entire Frost family's fortune because of it.

But right after our wedding, he started hooking up with the nanny's daughter, Tiffany Spencer.

When Eric's parents found out, they fired the nanny and her whole family in a rage.

Eric thought I was stirring up trouble between them, and he hated me so much that he wished he could grind me to dust.

After that, he and Tiffany became even more devoted to each other. Their bond was stronger than ever, and they were practically inseparable.

Later, Eric went so far as to join forces with his two brothers and lock me in the basement, leaving me to die of starvation.

Now that I had a second chance, I decided to step aside and let them be together.

But what I never saw coming was that all three Frost brothers got a second chance at life, too.

*****

I'd just stepped out of my adoptive father's study when I turned and saw Devin, Eric, and Jacob standing there.

The moment they saw me, they couldn't even hide how much they hated seeing me.

The eldest son of the Frost family, Devin, was the first to speak. "Violet, you're just the Frost family's adopted daughter. Why are you always hanging around my dad's study? You really have no shame, chasing after guys like some pathetic simp!"

The third son, Jacob Frost, gave a mocking laugh and rolled his eyes, not even bothering to hide his irritation.

"Devin, if you keep talking to Violet like that, what are you gonna do if she gets all upset again?" Jacob said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Eric, the second son, shot me an impatient look. "Violet, what are you doing with my dad again? Did you go tattling on us?"

"You're always acting like a nosy old hen. If you're so desperate for me to marry you, I'll have to think twice. Just don't come around for a while. I'm sick of seeing you."

His tone dripped with impatience and disdain, and his eyes said the same.

He never loved me.

I replied coolly, "None of your business if I go see Kelvin. He said he wanted to throw me a birthday bash this year, so we were just sorting out the plans."

The three Frost brothers gawked at me like I'd grown a second head, their faces full of disbelief.

Kelvin Frost was always too busy to give a damn about birthday parties. The only reason he was making a fuss this time was to drop a bombshell at my party.

He'd once said that when I turned twenty-two, he'd let me choose one of his three sons to marry.

And whoever was my husband would be the heir and inherit the whole Frost family's fortune.

The three brothers all wore different expressions, but Devin and Jacob both gave Eric complicated looks.

"Congrats, Eric. Looks like you're about to become the Frost family's next heir," Devin said, with a hint of irony.

"Eric, don't forget about me when you're on top, alright?" Jacob added, his tone just as mocking.

Eric gave me an arrogant smirk. "Violet, you've been chasing after me for years, and now you finally get what you want. You must be thrilled, right?"

He took a step closer, his voice turning icy. "Let's be clear. This marriage is just a transaction. We both get what we want. After we're married, we keep out of each other's lives. Don't even think you can tie me down. Otherwise, I'm not marrying you."

I frowned, wondering how Eric could make such a ridiculous demand and act like it was no big deal.

I shot him a suspicious look, memories from my life before flashing through my mind. Did he get a second chance at life just like me?

Just then, I heard a pretentious voice behind me. "Violet." It was Tiffany, putting on her usual act.

Tiffany, the nanny's daughter, strolled over in her comfy clothes, beaming at us.

Eric spotted her and immediately lit up, walking over with a smile.

"Tiffany, you're still sick. Shouldn't you be resting in your room?" Eric said, his voice dripping with concern.

Tiffany's eyes were red at the corners, and she was totally playing up her weakness. "My mom asked me to come check on Violet, in case she was hungry."

Eric shot me an annoyed glare. "Seriously, how old are you? Can't you get yourself something to eat? Do you really need someone to tell you to eat? Can't you see Tiffany is sick?"

He grabbed Tiffany's hand and started to walk away, but after a couple of steps, he stopped and shot me a warning look. "Violet, if you mess with Tiffany again, there's no way I'm ever marrying you!"

I let out a mocking laugh. This time, I didn't want you!

"I don't want to marry you, either," I said.

As soon as I said it, the four people standing in front of me just froze.

They stared at me, their eyes filled with shock.

Eric's brows furrowed, impatience clear in his gaze. "Violet, Tiffany's sick and needs to rest. This isn't the time for you to throw a tantrum."

"I'm serious. I've met someone I actually like. So I won't marry any of you," I said.

Devin and his brothers looked at each other in surprise.

When Eric finally processed my words, whatever patience he had left instantly disappeared. His brows furrowed even more.

"Just because Tiffany's sick, and we've been focused on taking care of her, you're saying this nonsense to get back at us?" he snapped.

Devin masked his surprise, his voice still cool and distant as he spoke again.

"Violet, you've been spoiled by the Frost family since you were little. Tiffany's had it rough. Why do you always have to compare yourself to her?" he said.

"Violet, one of us is definitely going to marry you. You don't need to say things like this just to upset us," Jacob said.

Jacob's eyes were a little red, his unusual gaze tinged with worry.

Thinking about everything that happened before, my hands clenched unconsciously at my sides. "I'm not trying to get back at you. If you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do about it."

Devin and his brothers exchanged glances, all of them seeing doubt in each other's eyes.

They all thought this was just another one of my tricks to get their attention.

Devin looked at me with obvious impatience. "Violet, playing hard to get isn't going to work on us."

"I'm serious," I said, my voice firm.

"Sure, whatever you say. Happy now?" Eric shot back, clearly annoyed.

"You keep talking about this guy you fall for. Well, let's see if your so-called crush even dares to show up at your birthday party in two weeks," he added with a scoff.

Devin let out a mocking laugh, about to say something, when Tiffany, who had been quietly standing off to the side, suddenly put a hand on her forehead, pretending to feel dizzy.

"My head's starting to spin again," Tiffany said softly.

At her words, Devin and his brothers' expressions changed instantly. All the impatience they'd just shown me disappeared, and they immediately started fussing over Tiffany.

"Tiffany, are you okay?" Devin asked, his voice full of concern.

"You should really be resting when you're sick. You're making us worry," Jacob added gently.

"Come on, let's get you home. No point hanging around here and dealing with more drama," Eric said, his tone sharp.

With that, the three brothers quickly ushered Tiffany out of the study.

As they walked a few steps down the hall, I could still hear Tiffany putting on her act.

"Are we really just leaving Violet here alone? Maybe we should wait for her," she said, her voice dripping with fake concern.

Eric shot back, clearly annoyed, "She's grown up. It's fine."

I watched their backs as they left, my fingers trembling a little. A bitter smile crossed my lips.

After all, I grew up with them, always by their side. How did things end up like this?

My parents saved Leonard Frost's life once, so after they died in a car accident, the Frost family took me in and raised me themselves.

Later, when I proved I was no ordinary girl, Leonard laid down an unwritten rule that whoever married me would get the Frost family fortune.

Devin, the eldest, had started his own business and became the CEO. Eric, the second son, was a renowned artist. And Jacob, the youngest, was a top actor in the entertainment industry.

Each of them had different personalities and their own tastes in women, but with the family fortune on the line, all three were dead set on marrying me.

The Frost parents couldn't say no to Leonard, so they agreed. They decided that at my twenty-second birthday party, they'd pick one of the three brothers to marry me and take over the entire Frost family fortune.

But after having the second chance in life, I wasn't going to pick any of the Frost brothers.

After I came of age, all three of them fell for Tiffany, the nanny's daughter.

Once Tiffany moved in, she started playing her little games, always finding ways to run into the Frost brothers and acting all sweet and innocent just for them.

I thought they'd see right through her, but of course, they fell for it every single time.

They used to fight over who would marry me, but then it was like Tiffany was the only one they noticed.
